In my speeches to college students around the country, I constantly talk about the power of getting into the zone before any activity that requires focus. Our average energy level in life on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being low, 10 high) is usually a 4 or 5.
But the ability to get to a 10 is what separates people who can rise to the occasion and those that consistently underperform.
New Zealand’s National Rugby team is a great example of an outstanding team. A tiny country that dominates the rugby world. And they are masters of getting into the zone. There famous Haka is performed before each game and gets everyone on the team to a 10 level of energy. Check out this short video of New Zealand performing the haka.

As a college motivational speaker I teach students to get to this same level. Feel free to try this one at home!
