Take a second…
and complete this sentence:
I want to succeed in life because of _______________, _______________ and _______________. You can fill in the blanks with whatever inspires you to get up in the morning. It might be family, future love, or your dog.
Some of you might have put down things like money, a car or shopping–and that is totally fine, but usually those things are be used to find us something else, like love or providing for a family or whatever else you can think of.
As a university speaker, I always challenge people think long and hard about what really drives them in life. The better you are at directly connecting those drivers to what you are doing on a daily basis, the more likely you are to follow through on those tough things that you need to do in order to get wherever you want to be.
As an example, I decided to become a university speaker because I was driven to help students and wanted to have more time to spend around my family and friends with a flexible schedule.
So think about it, what motivates you to succeed?
